


4.1 Why ask a question?
In order to formulate a good question, it's important that young people understand why they are asking it in the first place.
Some of the key reasons they might be asking a question are as follows:
- To learn something new
- To talk about an issue they care about
- To build a relationship with a politician
We find that questions in Dialogue sessions fall into two broad categories:
- Policy and issue questions
- Relationship building questions
The best Dialogue sessions are ones that have a good mixture of questions from both categories.
