Democracy Classroom Network

Democracy Classroom is a collaborative network supporting young people to take part in democracy and elections.

About Democracy Classroom

We have been working together since the 2017 General Election to pool our resources, training and support to ensure practitioners have everything they need to help young people to cast a meaningful vote. We support local, regional, devolved and national elections across the UK.

You can find out more about our support by visiting democracyclassroom.com, a free online hub of resources and support for teachers and youth practitioners that includes over 1000 free non-partisan resources and support opportunities.

Using our collective voice

Curriculum and Assessment Review response

In November 2024 we co-wrote a submission to the Department for Education’s Curriculum and Assessment Review with the Electoral Commission and over 40 partners from across the network.

A Roadmap to Votes at 16

In July 2025 we collectively developed 16 recommendations to make Votes at 16 a success with sector partners, academics, teachers and young people.
