Gary Sambrook MP provides work experience to a student

On the 9th March 2021, 13 students from South and City College Birmingham took part in a Digital Surgery with Gary Sambrook, MP for Birmingham Northfield.

One student expressed concerns to him about how their A-Level grades will be determined due to the pandemic. Gary offered to look into this issue for them and subsequently spoke to the Education Secretary Gavin Williamson.

Whilst feeding back to her his answer, Gary offered her to come and work in his office as he thought it would show “a useful insight into the daily life of an MP”. During the summer term of 2021, the student took part in a week’s work experience. This included shadowing Gary at local surgeries and attending meetings with businesses and constituents.
