General ELECTION 2024

We have a range of support available to support teachers and youth practitioners to engage young people in the run up to the General Election. Please note that we are hosting our programmes and support on our sister site: democracyclassroom.com and you can view a range of resources, programmes and events from over 100 organisations. Below is an overview of our support:

 

#Election Countdown

#ElectionCountdown is a series of short 15-minute sessions designed specifically for the 2024 General Election on a range of election topics, including manifestos, voter ID and registering to vote, to support young people who will be voting for the first time. These resources will be updated throughout the election period as and when further information becomes available - youth manifestos and information on candidates will be added as they are released.

 
 

Welsh youth Hustings

The Politics Project are hosting Youth Hustings for young people in Wales in the following 4 constituencies: in, Mid and South Pembrokeshire, Wrexham, Caerfyrdd and Cardiff West. These hustings offer young people the opportunity to ask candidates standing in their constituencies questions on issues they care about as well as giving candidates the chance to hear about the concerns and views of young people.The hustings are:

  • Mid and South Pembrokeshire, at Pembrokeshire College, 20th June, 12:00pm to 2:00pm

  • Caerfyrddin, online, 25th June, 12:00pm to 2:00pm

  • Wrexham, online, 26th June, 10:00am to 12:00pm

  • Cardiff West, at Radyr Comprehensive School, 28th June, 10:00am to 12:00pm

Voter registration resources

To support youth people to register to vote we have developed a range of resources, posters and flyers. Our Exploring Elections resources can be delivered as a 15 minute assembly or a 1 hour workshop.

We have also developed a range of voter registration materials including: registration flyers, posters and the winning entires from the #WhyVote competition.
