Cllr Thomas shares details for cleaning of local park with students

On 1st of December 2021, Cllr Simon Thomas took part in a Digital Surgery with students at Wellacre Technology Academy. During the surgery, the students raised the need for their local park, Broadway Park, to be cleaned. Simon offered to look into the dates for the next clean up and let the students know.

Following the surgery, Simon wrote to The Politics Project saying: “Our parks are cleaned periodically but we rely on Friends of Parks Groups supporting us with litter picking as it’s often an enormous and ongoing task. We are working hard to try and educate people about dropping litter. The next litter pick is this Sunday 10.30 at the park. If pupils are interested in helping they would be welcome to join in.”

We passed on this information to the students who will now be able to take part in the litter picking activities.
