Cllr Thomas investigates the need for repairs in local park

On the 1st of December 2021, students at Wellacre Technology Academy took part in a Digital Surgery with their local councillor,  Simon Thomas. During the surgery, the students raised that their local park, Kinsbury Park, required various repairs. Simon offered to email the park administrators for a date when issues in the park would be fixed.

Since, Cllr Thomas has been in touch to let us know that he has looked into the issues, which unfortunately has been caused by recurring vandalism. He however welcomes futures ideas from young people on the management  of the park: “I am hoping that next year with the support of a really good group called ‘City of Trees’ that we can consult the public on their views about the park, hearing young people’s ideas is really important and would hope we could include the Wellacre Student Forum in that” We are delighted that the councillor welcomes the students’ views following his involvement in the Digital Surgeries programme.
