Stephanie Peacock MP raises her students’ views in the House of Commons

Stephanie Peacock, MP for Barnsley East, took part in a Digital Surgery with Year 12 students from Barnsley College on 11th January 2019.

During a discussion about the impact of streaming services on the incomes of performing artists, Stephanie was asked by a student what could be done to ensure that artists were fairly paid by platforms like YouTube and Spotify.

In response, Stephanie offered to bring the issue up with Jeremy Wright, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport at the time. Stephanie duly did this during a House of Commons debate.
